At the very height of the festival, the gnomes gather round a great tureen of pumpkin stew and pour maple cream o'er the top. I'm afraid their manner of consumption is less drawing room fashion, for they dunk beards, noses, and face fully into the tureen by turns, slurping down the rich deliciousness.
